      David Bisbal's Biography

David Bisbal (born June 5, 1979) is a Spanish singer. Bisbal is the second
finalist of the reality show Operacion Triunfo, which was won by Rosa,
a show that would later be mirrored in the United States by
       Protagonistas De La Musica.

Bisbal was born in the city of Almeria, Andalucia, and he has two older
siblings, a brother, Jose Maria Bisbal (born 1968) and a sister,
Maria del Mar Bisbal (born 1971).

Bisbal left school because he did not like studying very much, his life
was related with music. Then, his parents found him a job, in a greenhouse.
But Bisbal was becoming interested in music, and as he was singing at his
job place, his talent was soon discovered and he was asked to audition
for an orchestra, named Orquesta Expresiones.

Bisbal performed in an orchestra as a singer, leading to his participation
in Operacion Triunfo. Bisbal was signed up by record company Vale Music,
which sent him to Miami to record his first CD album, with Kike Santander,
a Colombian and important music producer.

Bisbal's first album, Corazon Latino (Latin Heart), has been a smash
hit in Spain and all over Latin America, so much that he had to schedule
a 2002-2003 tour that has covered places such as the Dominican Republic,
Venezuela, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina and a good proportion of the rest of
South America and Central America, as well as the United States.

It is estimated Bisbal has already earned over one million US dollars in
his career as a singer. Ave Maria, Llorare Las Penas and Digale were
       huge hits.

His second album is called Buleria, and it has been as big a hit as his first
album (over 1 million copy sold in Spain, so he won a Diamond CD, the
n¡Æ1 album of the year 2004). His first DVD Todo por Ustedes recorded
during his Spanish and American tour, was launched in march 2005 and
has also been the highest selling DVD for more than a month in Spain,
and is doing very well in America too.

Buleria, Oye El Boom, Desnudate Mujer, Camina Y Ven, Esta Ausencia,
Me Derrumbo and Como Olvidar were singles.

David Bisbal dated the also famous Spanish singer, Chenoa, who got
the 4th place in the same reality show. They split up some months ago,
but right now, both have new partners.

In 2006, David Bisbal sings Let's Make History featuring Joana Zimmer
the main song on the soundtrack of the german film "Die Lufbrucke"
("The Air Bridge"). Now, he is going to release David Bisbal,
an album only for Europe, which includes all his Spanish hits
and three new English songs: The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore,
Stop Loving You and Cry For Me.

       Nickname: Mickey, Luismi, El Idolo

more Latin Grammy awards) and even has a star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Born in Puerto Rico and raised in Mexico, he is the son of an Italian actress,
Marcela Basteri, and a Spanish singer, Luisito Rey, whose career was at its
height in the 60s. Luis began his singing career at the age of 11, at a birthday
party in Veracruz, Mexico, when a Mexican record executive signed him to a

was in full swing, with two records under his belt, and a string of melodramatic
